The Gaza War was detrimental to the people and infrastructure of Gaza and had a divisive impact on the regional relations, especially among Arab states.
During this war, Arab states split into two camps, the "Moderate Camp" led by Egypt and the "Defiant Camp" led by Syria. The Egyptian and Syrian responses to the war epitomized those of two camps. This study analyses the foreign policy responses of these two states, with respect to some internal and external factors.
